Viva City Restaurant - Richmond

I booked a table for four people at 6pm at Vivacity RestaurantMy family and I took a look at the menu and ordered the food.

This restaurant is ranked relatively poorly compared to its peers in Richmond, despite being consistently popular among its patrons.

Travelled from Seattle to Vancouver BC to try this restaurant. Found it to be very popular with the local Chinese and with visitors from Hong Kong. The dim sum was very good with a more delicate taste than normal dim sum. The har gow had larger pieces of fresh shrimp; the noodles in the soy sauce noodles actually had a delicious taste; the fried pork dumplings had a fragrant taste that I have not encountered in other restaurants; the pork buns were not the bready type normally found in dim sum restaurants but instead were like a pastry. The taste of the dim sum was 5 stars but the service was below average and the rest rooms were sub par - that is why I gave the restaurant only 4 stars. Parking in the lot can be difficult at peak times but their is meter parking on the street.

We finally went with the flow because Vivacity opens earlier than most dim sum restaurants in Richmond. The dim sum dishes arrived table side relatively quickly and other patrons were not intrusive (as is the case in many of the Chinese restaurant in metro Vancouver. Prices were about par and there was ample parking in the parking lot.
