Umi Japanese Eatery Udon - Richmond

I had a horrible time here. spent almost 30$ just to get yelled at by two staff when I tried to go to the bathroom and left my bf watching my tray in their seating area. he said I had to take my tray somewhere else so I just went and threw out all my food so I could use the bathroom, even tho my bf was sitting at the table still. I'm in tears still by the treatment of the staff and waste of food and money and time. really unprofessional. I will never return.

Food was average, with ok sized portions. It was located in a crowded food court, so there are probably better options nearby. Overall, it was decent, but I probably won't be coming again due to the variety of options nearby.Food: 4/5

Ordered a chicken teriyaki Donburi, why? Why must the vegetables be fried in batter ? It wasn’t what was advertised, very disappointing. Plus I got a box with the lid that didn’t close so I asked for a bag and got charged for it?You just gave me a lid that doesn’t close and I have to pay for the bag? Huh?Food: 1/5

Ordered a beef ribs kamatama udon. Was not pleased to find that the broth had leaked from the container when I got home. I was careful in handling the food so it was probably a defect on the takeout box. There's also a little bit of egg shells in my food. For $15 you can easily get something better.Food: 2/5

The food was unbelievable bad. I ordered an katsu rice bowl and there were three pieces of over fried pork. One of the was full of fat with no meat. The other two was pork but it was so hard that I felt my gum was bleeding when I bit on to them. The beef in the bento box tasted like rough paper and the Tempura for the side was burnt. Overall I see no hope for this restaurant and I hop this comment help other to not waste their time and money on it as their pricing was relatively high as well.
