First the price is top of the line and food is not anything you can find in Shanghai. My mom like to cook so I have Shanghai food daily when I was younger. The food here is more canadian. ... Lessoil less salt....healthier for sure but it is not Shanghai food.

Very popular local restaurant with very good food. Get there by 6:30 to avoid long lines. Their XLB is among the best in Richmond, better than Shanghai river.

We went to this place 2 times in 24 hours so we could try different things. The first time was about 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. This was a good time to come ahead of the dinner crowd. The place was not empty even then, but the service is better than if you show up when they are busy (which we did the next day). The xiao long bao is very good and worth going there for, as we went back for more the next day. Sunday lunch is dim sum time and it gets very crowded. If you don't want to wait, beat the crowd or make reservations. The dining area layout is tight, so expect to be close to other diners. And, as with many Asian restaurants, don't expect much from the service and you won't be disappointed. The food is pretty authentic and every thing we had was good. Maybe we hit Shanghai River on an off day a few months earlier, but this place is my choice. The rating is for the food. Being better than an average Asian restaurant on service would warrant an excellent rating.
