When we entered the entire place was filled with Chinese customers. Still the food is good but you need to know what to order. Go with a Chinese friend to help you navigate the menu. This place was recently hit by a car (yes it went thru the window) and I believe its close for repairs.
Uncooked fish (sent it back) Really good pig stomach pepper soup, Tofu/scallop/eggplant hotpot (really good but eggplant was overcooked), Beef brisket hotpot (good), sauteed/deep fried green beans and pork neck(ok!) Lobster with noodle in creamy sauce(not great...) Service was ok... ordered two beers and had to re-order for them to bring one beer and had to order again to get the second one. Also was serving ourselves tea cause servers never did.Price was good.
It's early Sunday morning in Vancouver, Richmond to be exact and the stomach is growling. Where to go? Just so happens that over on #3 Road there is this little restaurant open at 0730 hrs. on a Sunday! So in we go and after a veggie/pork soup with tea included we walk away feeling content and very happy at the price. Larger tables are being set up for what looks like possibly Dim Sum later on in the morning. So if you're laying over between flights or really for whatever reason, give this place a try. Some parking available in the rear. Close to Skytrain. Right across from BMO in the 6000 # 3 Rd. Richmond.
From outward appearances this restaurant looks very inviting, however upon closer examination one soon discovers that not only are renovations in order but basic housekeeping is also non existent. While it is true that the house special chow mien was flavorful it was near impossible to unlace the noodles from each other to obtain a portion upon your plate. It's common place now days for most establishments to accept credit, charge and debit cards. Imagine my surprise when the server/cashier demanded CASH. Certainly it's common knowledge that many Chinese restaurants (in Richmond) only accept CASH however they also prominently display a sign CASH ONLY..........patrons beware. No such signage could be found at The One Café.
This is a very good restaurant to go to. Excellent food and service. Very friendly staff. I would recommend for all ages to go.
