Second, the price is totally understandable, don't compete MacDonald with them, this is a restaurant! plus the waitress are so friendly. I will be back for sure! Forgot to take photo before we ate it all :
Read previous low star review. I must say, they don't know what authentic Chengdu cuisine taste like... Of course your tongue will feel numb and spicy, that's one of the signature of Szechuan food... Tbh, they already tone and scale down the numbing spicyness down... if you've been to Szechuan Chengdu, you will know they can eat extremely spicy food. I've been to chengdu and I'd must say, this restaurant's noodle flavour is on par with flavour and less spicy. Portion is alright since I'm here to try noodles and dumplings.
The buns were fantastic. I ordered the pork rice combo and the portion was large with a variety of side dishes. The price was reasonable. I will definitely be returning! The spicy dishes were also delightful.
My favourite Chinese food in Richmond since 2020. Portion are great. The food is flavorful and delicious. Highly recommended !
In our search for a casual place to have a snack/early dinner, my parents and I drove by Chengdu Noodle House and thought it 'd be worth a try. I 'm inclined to believe there is free parking in the attached parkade. However, the spaces are colour coded and allocated to one of the three attached buildings. Having no prior knowledge about which building the restaurant belonged to, we gave up and ended up paying for parking on the street. From a combination of being an odd hour (way past lunch, not quite dinner time) and the fact that the restaurant is a little off the beaten path, the place was very quiet. There was only one other table occupied, but certainly no shortage of food delivery personnel coming and going. The place was laid out with simple clean tables and chairs, and seemed like a place where you would buy a decent meal to eat and go. Like a lot of establishments in the area, they only take cash or debit cards, no credit cards. There is a Cash Only sign placed in front of the cash register that is half hidden so it may not be immediately obvious that credit cards are not accepted. My parents and I decided to order the Pork and Chives Dumplings, Braised Chicken in Noodles, and Pork and Assorted Veggies (3 types) in Noodles, choosing to have the thin noodles instead of the flat ones. My mom had warned me that some of the dishes may be spicy, but I did appreciate the menu having little markings to indicate whether a dish was spicy or not. I have to admit that both sets of noodles were a solid choice, though nothing spectacular. High proportion of noodles in clear hot broth. Noodles were soft, not chewy. The pork and vegges one was a safe standard choice: bean sprouts, mushrooms, and green onions and some pork. I was a little more disappointed with the braised chicken: it looked like the chicken had been chopped up into smaller pieces by hand, leaving little bits of chicken and bone in the broth. Order this dish only if you are okay with navigating little pieces of chicken and bone. If you prefer to inhale your food, then it may be better to choose another noodle dish. The biggest hit for me were the pork and chives dumplings. I was told the dumplings were made on-site and they came out piping hot. They were delicious! The shells seemed thicker and were stuffed to the brim with pork and chives and I wish I had ordered another round. Verdict: good place with a large selection of noodle and rice dishes. Slightly off the regular path; feels like you would be guaranteed a parking spot and a seat if you wished to visit in person.
