It is the only Thai /Malaysian family run restaurant in Steveston , after a nice long cycling at the West Dyke trail ,we stumbled upon this little restaurant , very small patio ,only for 6 people , ,lovely views of the sunset , ,menu is very authentic Malaysian cuisine , lot to choose from , not price at all , the Pan Thai with chicken lot of flavour not greasy at all , the curry prawns fried rice delicious but spicy HOT !!! the Chicken skewers very tender and sauce is great , last min we notice the patio is empty , so we end up had a lovely early dinner at watch the Sunset ! ,looking for some thing different to eat ,try the Kari House ,not bad at all
Have eaten at this place over the last years whenever I was in Steveston. The service is friendly and efficient. The keep the distance and the clean the restaurant as it looks regularly (including the toilets) On a sunny Thursday we hat Kari Merah which was well spiced but not over spiced and one could enjoy the flavour and taste. The Satay Ayam (2 pieces) was well cooked and the peanut sauce was delicious. The prices are very good and very reasonable. If you like Malaysian Cuisine this is a place you can visit and should not be disappointed
This small unassuming family run Malaysian restaurant serves a wide variety of dishes, in a casual setting on the riverfront. All menu items are fresh and carefully prepared. Great value and flavours.
I frequented this place for many years and have slowly stopped going because of the disappointment. Service is great but food portion and quality does not compare to the first several years after they opened and they continue to dwindle. I gave them one last chance and I ordered take out of sweet and sour chicken, lemon chicken and yellow beef curry. Those are pretty standard dishes. Nothing fancy about them. What a disappointment... The sweet and sour chicken was runny, the lemon chicken looked sad and spread out and was a snack portion size (see photo), not worth $12+. The yellow beef curry had ok flavor but you had to search for the beef. There was too much potato in it. The prices are a rouse as they price dishes about $2 less than most Malaysian or Thai places but the portions and content are not worth the $2 discount. Sadly I will not be returning and will not recommend this place anymore despite the service and great location.
