This is not the first time that I was badly treated in this restaurant. I've been ordering here for a few years and had one of the waitresses, supposedly she's manager, talking to me as if I were dirty. she was always rude and aggressive. I've always ignored because I like to eat it, but this time she pushed it too far. I had ordered a roll that I had ordered many times before, but when I received the order, it was something else. I went back to let them know and was said in the round: “You are mistaken, they ordered online, we cannot help them”. the manager even took the acknowledgement from my hand, looked at me and told me last time that I ordered something else. I explained to her that I had ordered the last time, but it didn't like, so I wanted the roll I wanted to order regularly. then she pushed me the box sushi after she coughed me the food and told me to go and that they can't help me because that's what I had ordered. I had never seen it before and wanted just a simple fixation with the right roll, or at least a refund. but after they were re-entered with my food, I no longer wanted to eat it obvious and threw it into her restaurant, in the müll. I am appalled with the fact that she is managerin and she treats people on this wise, even if I just tried to explain the situation calmly. never again. in the past, I had tried to add a 10% voucher to the order, but the website was not working. the same manager/stress told me that I was wrong, it works, but she would give it to me even though she shouldn't. how can anyone think that they can treat such people? damaged.
The hotel is located in the shopping center broadmoor so very comfortable Re-Parking. fast service, good food and fair prices. in the order of a job while eating so that we simply order, take them over their website and get them. very practical and delish. Lunch bingo boxes are a...big deal.
Gami Sushi is located in the Broadmoor Mall at No. 3 Road and Williams. We were there on a February Friday around 12:30 and had to wait about 10-15 minutes. When we left around 1:45, there was still a lineup to get in. The menu...has the usual Japanese items including sashimi, sushi rolls, bento boxes and lunch specials. We ordered the following to share: • Sweet Green Attack roll 11.95) – a 10 piece vegetarian sushi roll. Ingredients included yam, avocado, cucumber, oshinko (pickled radish) topped with wakame (seaweed) and a sweet and not too spicy sauce. The roll had some added crunch from the oshinko. My spouse and I enjoyed the tasty roll. • Gami seafood salad 15.95) – consisting of a spring mix, iceberg lettuce, grape tomatoes, avocado slices and slivered vegetables. The seafood ingredients included a small 4-6 ounce grilled lobster tail, about 20 tiny bay scallops and 4 slightly grilled prawns (u 16-20 size). The “orange soy dressing cream sauce” was very watery resulting in a not too flavourful dressing. The boat shaped salad bowl had about 2 or 3 ounces of dressing/water sitting at the bottom. A fair sized dish good enough for an average eater or a share platter for 2 persons. I ordered this dish because my spouse’s friend said that it was one of her favourite dishes. • Okonomiyaki 11.65) – a savoury Japanese pancake about 6 to 8 inches in diameter. The pancake is usually made with flour, eggs, shredded cabbage, some kind of protein and topped with a variety of condiments. This seafood pancake had squid rings, octopus tentacles and small bay shrimp topped with Bonita tuna flakes. An above average tasty dish that arrived sizzling hot. I was expecting more of a firmer base as this pancake had a very soft and moist “crust”. Complimentary tea was served and the pot left on the table. With taxes, the meal came to $41.53 before the tip. Ratings Breakdown • Quality and taste – above average. The vegetarian roll was good as was the Okonomiyaki. The Gami salad was just average as the dressing was a letdown. • Portion size vis-à-vis price – pricing was good compared to portion size. • Service – once we ordered, the food came quickly. The servers never came back to check on us. I would go back to visit and try some of the other dishes. Judging on how busy it was I would say it is popular with the locals and the luncheon crowd. I would rate the overall food experience at 3.5 out of 5, above average. “Your mileage may vary”! Notes Tips • Available wifi • There were quite a few take out orders during the lunch • The lunch special bento boxes (chicken, beef, tofu or vegetarian) were good value at all under $10 with the salmon at $14.95. There is even a kid’s bento box at $6.15. The “adult” bento boxes come with the protein, vegetables, rice, tempura, gyoza, salad, 4 piece California roll and miso soup. • Gami Sushi has been around a few years and it is one of many run by Asians but not Japanese. I’m guessing this business is run by Koreans. • Seating for more than 50 persons including 5 booths. • Part of the reason for people waiting, were the tables and booths were occupied by singles and couples, thus not having maximizing usage. For example, in a booth for 6, there was only 1 person and a table of 4 had 1 person. I’m glad the servers don’t ask if you want to share a table like some Asian restaurants. However, the lineups moved fairly quickly. • Stripmall parking • The last time we had Japanese food was at Mega Sushi in Steveston back in November. See my review. • Other restaurant options in Broadmoor Mall include a pub, Chinese and Vietnamese.
I’ve been to this restaurant multitudinous times because the food is consistently good! Today was exceptional not just because I was hungry but because the Veggie Bento Box (my favorite seemed larger than ever! The female servers are fast but have no time to...smile or be social. They just drop stuff flee. Hence, the overall experience is something akin to an assembly line! However, that being said , I will return because I love the food!
