They have some really nice rice bowls with a variety of options and choices. The wontons in chili oil are my favorite dish and if you are looking for very good wontons in chili oil this is the place to go to. If spicy heat is hard for you feel free to ask for less chili oil on your wontons. I highly recommend giving this place a try for sure. It is a good experince and a good cultural experience to try.
It’s authentic Taiwanese taste! Beef noodle soup and deep fried chicken were awesome. Be aware of its CASH ONLY.
Circled around the food court and decided to try this place because of the store appearance. Looks good, maybe taste good, right? Didn't realize the reviews here were quite high until I am posting this, which was good because if I knew they averaged 4.5 stars, I would be even more disappointed. If you are in a rush, do not order this because it will take 18 minutes to have it ready even though there was no lineup for the last 10 minutes while I was circling the food court. But hey, good food takes time right? Since they have 鐵路排骨 Railway Pork Chop in their name, I have to order their signature Railway Pork Chop with rice/noodle. I got the noodles instead since it's different. All I can say was... don't get the noodles. The noodles were overcooked, soggy, and flavourless, like Madonna's... nvm. Since it's dried noodles, you really have to mix it with the sauce, that's what gives it flavour. However, the sauce to noodle ratio was worse than the Cauasian to Asian ratio in Richmond. There was not enough Cauasian, I mean sauce. The minced pork it came with was either dried up Pork or pork fat, nothing in between, kind of like me, just all fat. Hence I suggested to pair it with rice instead. The marinated egg is ... just an egg. The pork intestine was flavourless and soft. But their famous Railway Pork Chop ... was indeed quite interesting. They managed to make half of it very tender, juicy and sweet, yet the other half was dried and chewy and sweet. Some may think the pork chop marinate is too sweet but I liked it, just how I liked half the pork chop. Therefore, I pretty much liked 15% of that dish. Maybe you will have better luck than I do.
I just LOVE their lunch boxes of varieties of flavors such as the railway’s pork ribs and the vegetarian! Their deep fried stinky tofu is excellent too! I just hope I can live next to this place so that I can eat their foods most often!
I came to the food court of Westminster Public Market to buy a $14.99 meal for lunch. The portion was big enough for two meals lunch and dinner. Surprisingly, the popcorn chicken was even better than the ones at Taiwanese restaurants. The veggies tasted great although they looked plain. Another thing that surprised me was the restaurant chose better rice! Sometimes food stalls at a food court would choose less expensive rice with less standards due to their costs but the rice here was so good! The service was great. A server who took my order was polite and she tried to take orders quickly but still kept her manner. Sometimes I can see servers stress out when they have to deal with many customers at the same time.I parked at free parking lot attached to the public market. Lots of parking, so don’t need to worry about not finding a parking spot. This place is just busier during weekends. Weekdays would be better.I would highly recommend this Taiwanese food stall at Westminster Public Market if you want to eat Taiwanese food at a cheaper price. As all of hs know, prices at restaurants have been increased and prices out there are always higher. Here is still affordable ??
