Many years ago this was a good place to eat but the current manager (son in law of original owner) is very, very rude. The food in my opinion is over priced and the quality varies form visit to visit . I have given Old Timers one more chance for the last time. I will not return.
Great lunch time meal. Stopped here during a road trip so we wanted a quick bite and it did not disappoint. The sweet tea was sweet but not pure sugar. The lady taking our order was very patient in speaking to my parents who did not have English as their first language. Never saw the cranky cook mentioned in other reviews. The buns were plain white bread buns but who cares. The meat here is the star of the show.
I grew up with this barbeque and it is as good today as it was in 1969. I have lived on the Coast for the last 20 years but make a point of going by to pick up 10 lbs of beef and sauce when I come through. This is simply THE BEST beef brisket barbeque sandwich I've ever had. Yes, the greek guy is/was a jerk, but the last two times I've been in, he hasn't been around, so maybe they've figured out he's better just smoking the brisket and staying out of the way. Dunno, I'm not up there enough to know.
We each got the $6 lunch combo. It was a tiny sandwich on Walmart buns and so little meat that half of the time I was only eating bread and bbq sauce . Dont waste your money here.
