We were staying in the area and, on a whim, decided to try this place out. Very typical supper club/bar in style but the food was actually quite good and a pleasant surprise being so far off the beaten path. Only knock, which isn't that big of a deal or that much of a surprise, was that it is cash only.
Nothing fancy, just a nice rural (Boaz Wisconsin) eatery that every local knows and supports. Poor-man's Lobster (AKA Cod) was delicious. Salad Bar, diverse and plentiful. We were most impressed with the degree of cleanliness and sanitation practices. One of the better ways to keep customers, don't make anyone sick. Very attentive wait-staff too!
The food was excellent, but it was a bit too chilly for me to take off my coat. I noticed that others were keeping theirs on as well.
This is a lovely, tranquil spot that feels unpretentious and comfortable. The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. The service was excellent—warm and welcoming. We started with the onion rings as an appetizer, which were delightful. For my main course, I had the bluegill with a baked potato, and it was exceptional! The fish was perfectly crispy and tender. My fiancé ordered the catfish, also with a baked potato, and he enjoyed it thoroughly; he said it didn’t need any seasoning—it was fantastic as is. We even had the pleasure of meeting Karen, who was incredibly kind and helpful. The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is that the decor is somewhat dated and they don't accept credit or debit cards. However, we will definitely be back for the great food and service.
