Came here tonight 10 minutes before closing. Doors locked, staff making faces at people trying to get in and laughing inside. Got ice cream at Speedway instead. At least a half dozen other groups tugged on the door too. They left the OPEN sign turned on until at least 10:30.
I have no idea what it is with this place but the ice cream here is unbelievable compared to other DQs. The consistency is thick and always perfect, whereas almost every other location I've been to tends to be hit or miss. Every DQ should strive to be this delicious! The interior is limited in space but they have a patio to enjoy your dessert which is fine because in general, people spend too much time indoors. It's good to enjoy fresh air. The only downside is that this a seasonal location. Fortunately, they have already reopened for the year and have been equipped with a new soft serve machine. The taste and texture is still as fantastic as ever.
Love the old school signage. Great place for something sweet after burgers at Adrians. Please do not remodel this and turn it into a Grill and Chill. The old style DQ's are the best!
I really don't understand the one negative review posted about this DQ. We were there tonight, and it was lovely. The weather was perfect, and we sat out on the patio with our Blizzards and watched the traffic go by. The folks behind the counter were friendly and efficient; they were pretty busy tonight, but we were able to order and pick up our ice cream, lickety split. We saw a couple of families with kids; it's got a great neighborhood feel. The old-fashioned signage certainly helps. I much prefer vintage Dairy Queens to the new style (though my husband said this used to be a Dairy *King*?
