The breakfast was the most bland I've ever had. Both of my little ones ordered the kids' candy pancakes, and they barely touched their plates. Normally, they eat well, but they said the pancakes were nasty. We tried them, and sure enough, they were just awful—tasting like a mix of flour and water with no flavor at all. I opted for the banana nut bread French toast, and the waiter convinced me it was a popular item and that the bread was homemade from their other location. But honestly, it didn't live up to the hype! My husband ordered chicken and waffles, and that was also flavorless. The waffles looked pale, and the chicken had no seasoning whatsoever. It’s safe to say this will be our first and last visit here. Looks can be deceiving! If you’re looking for a good brunch, I recommend Black Walnut Café or Eggsquisite Café. They may be a bit farther away, but they are definitely worth it!
I am so disgusted by the food here. It was my first and last time coming to this establishment. My friend and I came here to order food for take out. Not only did we have to wait over an hour to receive our food, but we spent almost $60 on food that wecouldn?t even eat. When we got home and looked at the food, both of our sandwiches were cold, the lettuce was browned on theedges, and the sweet potato fries were extremely soggy and floppy. The guacamole that came with my sandwich was also brown andnot fresh. The steak quesadilla my friend got was also very cold and didn?t have much steak with it. Looking at the foodcompletely killed our appetite and everything went to the trash without us even taking a bite. I am so disappointed at the timeand money wasted here. I don?t know how they even have good reviews. I knew we should?ve walked out after having to wait thatlong.
Definitely feel a like a well-kept secret. I have eaten here for several weekends with my husband and daughter. I love the migas, while my husband prefers the chicken fried steak breakfast meal. We also like the French toast. My daughter is only oneyear old and can never finish the huge pancake that comes with the kids feast, but she likes it all the same. Love the chillatmosphere and the coffee station as well. Edit: came back with coworkers for lunch today. We lingered over our menus andmeals, but we felt very much at home given that the restaurant wasn?t too busy. I tried the Organic Chai On the Rocks for thefirst time, and the chicken quesadilla. Both were pretty good. Probably won?t get the quesadilla again as I prefer the otheritems I?ve ordered previously.
I waited for nearly 20 minutes despite there being open tables, and the disrespectful attitude of some employees was very disappointing. Having previously worked at Cafe Brazil in Addison, I know that we were expected to treat customers with respect. I don't know what has happened to this location, but it was unbelievable to have an employee shout at me across the restaurant while I was on my way to a table, only to later hear her laughing with other staff members about it. The chai I ordered was essentially just hot milk with cinnamon, and I had to get up to find to-go cups since there were none available. The server who attended to us was helpful, so I have no complaints about them. However, I did have to ask for silverware, which was a bit of a letdown. The max slack was also disappointing, and the fries I paid extra for were burnt. Overall, my experience was far from satisfactory.
