We were hoping to find an authentic German "gasthaus" in a smaller town or city. Sometimes these places look charming but the are, in truth, on the mediocre side. Not this one. It features evening service daily except Monday and extra hours for Sunday afternoon. Local people and families frequent the Merzbacher Hof. The menus is not extensive, it features a variety of meats (including horse sauerbraten seasonally), a nice bar with three beers on tap plus wines and liqueurs. The outdoor dining is wonderful on a mild summer night. On weekends you may need a reservation. English is spoken by some of the staff and you will be made to feel welcome.

Sehr nettes Personal, Essen(Filetspitzen) super zart und geschmackvoll. Das Jägerschnitzel war auch zum Vernaschen. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Schnitzel Mit Pfifferlingen
