You will find various cuts of meat, chicharrón is extremely popular) beef, pork, chicken, as well as beans, arepas, and empanadas. The two locations #1 and #2) have the same owners and number two is a bit larger. This is a literal side of the road restaurant that’s is not fancy but has really good food. 1 is located close to “Don Diego” and 2 is closer to “La Fe”. The service is usually very good, prices are moderate but the quality of the food is a bit better than what you might expect.
This is a great place the try local chicharrón. Is not a fancy place but for sure it is a greatttt place to taste local typical food. Definitively we will come back.
Great restaurant located in Retiro, every time I go this place is always packed. My in laws recommended the beans when we went so I ordered them and they were delicious. I also tried many of the other dishes on numerous occasions and was never disappointed. If your in the area of Retiro and looking to have a bite to eat stop in. Hope you enjoy.
I always try to stop here when in the area. The chicharron and empanadas are just great. In additional they sell freash local farm produce, so this is the place to buy your fruit and vegetables. Parking can be difficult at times. Staff always friendly.
The place is an experience. Like many of Colombia's great eateries, la Cantaleta is a roadside restaurant, which also sells stuff. They have a grocery store, a fruit and vegetables stand and the restaurant. Lots of bikers carb loading on a Sunday lunch time. Parking can be tricky and occasionally you'll wait a couple of minutes to get a table. You mist, of course order chiccarron. They are the meaty kind, not the typical day pork belly you get elsewhere. Also take home some brown maiz arepas to put on the fire with quesito for breakfast.
