Bay Tree Retford

Excellent breakfast, particularly with a glass of Prosecco. Lovely ambience both inside and out. Situated next to the canal. Friendly staff.

My partner and I popped in for lunch today. The food was lovely and the service was excellent too. The Bay Tree is definitely one of Retford's hidden gems! I Highly recommend.

Enjoyed a lovely cup of tea, followed by a walk by the canal and then lunch at this super friendly cafe. Food was delicious and good quality. Will definitely be back!

Once again a great breakfast today here treating the Mother. Full English, cooked to perfection. It frustrates me reading reviews around slow service etc. we are living through a pingdemic, can’t people have a little patience, it’s not the end of the world if...their food takes a little longer than usual. I chose here knowing it wouldn’t be out in minutes, you get what you pay for, and it’s fresh. I am sure people would moan if it came out too quick.. Well done to the staff, not just here all but all hospitality and dealing with people who are on a timer. I mean watching the clock and logging the times of things. Come on, has your job been Challenging during Covid? Exactly, have some understanding. Stay home next time. Clowns

We visited Friday afternoon for lunch,we both chose the burger and I ordered a magnets cider as well. First off, no magners so was brought Woodgate (a bottled cider from lidl costing charged us Next up, only one burger left so hubby changed...his order to scampi. The scampi and onion rings were clearly straight out of the freezer, the burger was meant to come On foccacia bread but came on a cheap bread bun. By this stage we couldn't be bothered saying anything, so ate, paid and left. Looking at some of the clientele, this place has pretentions and likes to rip folk off. Won't be back.
