Happened on this restaurant as wanted one outside overlooking the Rhine. The weather was beautiful. A young helpful waitress gave us a menu in English. She said no lunchtime special menu was available so chose two mains from the full menu. They came with a fresh salad starters. My partner had 2 pork kebab with rice and fries I had minced pork which also came with rice and fries. Both tasted very good. Toilets over the road in the main restaurant up steep stairs. Parking on the street if you can get parked.
We went to my husband to have a great dinner on our 1. Wedding annaversary.but we weren't delighted.the staff was friendly but they were so young, without experience.i ordered garnelen in cream sauce.it was 9 euros and i got 4 pieces of garnelen.the sauce was not jummy and it was instant.my husband ordered csevap (have to be 3 different meat) instead of 3 meat it was made by minced pork.was not good taste.my turkey salad was ok but nothing special.we spend more 60 euros for nothing.i was fustrated.only one positiv :terace next to the Rhine side.beatiful view.Next time we will choos an other restaurant.for example Anker!
This restaurant can be found on the Rhine Promenade at Remagen. If the weather is good there is a really lovely dining area outside on the edge of the Rhine. You almost get a feeling of being in mediterranean on a sunny warm day. For colder days the main restaurant is located across the road and has good views across the Rhine also. The restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. There are menus in English and the restaurant serves dishes which are a mixe of European and dishes commonly found in Germany . There is a specials menu as well. The restaurant has a good selection of local wines. We had bread, olives and aioli, wild garlic soup ( which was good) a tomato mozzarella salad and a Flam Kuchen which were ok but nothing more.Overall, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere which made for a pleasant visit.
Other reviewers who praise this restaurant are absolutely right! We arrived in mid-October on a Rhine River Cruise for a short, 3-hour stay in Remagen. Schroeders is on the Rhine virtually at the waters edge. It is in an elevated location so the view is great. After we tried to say "Guten Tag" we were politely presented with an English language menu. The onion tarte (quiche) was huge and very tasty. The potato soup with bacon was delicious. We both had classic wiener schnitzel (veal, not pork) and found it delightful. Prompt, courteous, and friendly service. 58 euros for two with beers (no dessert). Other dinners were locals and other (German) tourists. Walked along the Rheinpromenade until our boat left. A wonderful afternoon.
