We had an early dinner here. The Schnitzel was very good and the portion was generous. Very attentive and friendly staff.
Our hotel recommended this place and they were spot-on! The portion sizes were huge (Americans take note! and everything we ordered was well-prepared and tasty. The service also was excellent, and don't worry if you don't speak German, there is an English menu and the staff speak English as well. As a family of four, we found the prices very reasonable. We ordered a meal-sized salad, schnitzel, and a few other dishes. Everyone was a success. The beer selection was excellent as well. This was our favorite restaurant in town. We highly recommend it. An important note: make reservations! This is a small place and quite popular.
Delicious food! Portions are huge! Most meals would feed two people. The menu is in German, which we spoke little of, so we tended to play pot luck and pick at random. The steak was as big as a dinner plate and very tasty. The chicken was fab. The hostess herself was very nice and spoke some English. Book in advance!
Bottom Line Up Front: Great high quality local Bavarian food served in a very family style that feels like you just ate a lovely family dinner at home!Pros: The food is great value for money and doesn't sacrifice taste or freshness. Although small inside area you feel welcome and even sharing a table becomes part of your experience. We had three (3) children with us too - 8-6-1- and were treated like family even though it was only our first visit. The wonderful server even surprised our boys with chocolate surprise eggs after dinner and insisted we take home our cheese noodles in a ceramic bowl so it would taste better as left overs - they only asked us to leave the bowl on the ledge before we left the village! You feel like it is a Resturant in a small town in a long ago memory of a perfect century with service - food and experience that will have you come back for more!Cons: We read and heard we needed reservations and tried to make them but in the end it didn't work out so we just showed up and got lucky!!!Recommendations: Try the garlic soup as a starter and the Wiener schnitzel as a main - but it all looked great!
