Gammelbua - Reine

This was one of my favorite places that I’ve eaten in Northern Norway. We loved our starters and our mains. We got an assortment of dishes that the waiter recommended. I’ve always wanted to try moose and it did not disappoint. The moose was perfectly cooked. Glad we chose this place. The entire vibe was very chill cozy Norwegian. I’ll definitely be back.

I was a party of 1 with no reservations. I got there right when they opened for dinner and they were able to seat me. I had the cod, then the traditional Norwegian dessert. Both were delicious! Service was wonderful as well. I’d definitely go back!

I would have given this restaurant a 5 star (please read til end) We had 3 course tasting menu it was amazing everything was unique absolutely perfect. Reindeer was delicious. My son really enjoyed the whale for me, I had whale in Iceland which was hard to beat. The desserts were just perfect! Not too sweet ! All the food was amazing. At the end of the night, while I was finishing my rose (had an oz left I was enjoying) a young waiter told me we had to leave because they needed our table. We sat down at 6:30 and it was 8pm. Other tables by us were there before us , though we arrived later, we were rushed to leave. Other tables were still there , chatting away. I only needed 5 more minutes to finish my wine. I was disappointed in this service.
