The staff are friendly, the food is fantastic and great value for money and they have a great selection of wines and the finest Irish whiskey! This is a great stop in Nantes for food, drink and atmosphere at any time of the day or evening.
Reillanne is one of my favourite villages in France and there are many reasons why.Besides its pictureque setting in the mountains, it has retained most of its buildings built many centuries ago. It also has that atmosphere that only comes along with unspoilt landscapes, churches, streets and a town square that probably looks the same as it did 100 years ago.Close to the town square is the Cafe du Cours. Always busy for good reason.Simple tasty food using local produce at a competitve price. (We loved the local produce when we experienced the local market that morning with it's amazing array of fruit, vegetables, condiments, and so on from nearby farms). The cafe offers a wide variety of food and our large party of friends and family were in unison when describing their satisfaction at what was presented. The service was good even though the cafe being crowded and there being plenty of us.And then of course you are so close to the centre of a town that hopefully will retain its way of life well into the future.Let's hope that modern buildings will never be erected here - let Reillanne retain it's beauty and charm for ever more!
This place was pumping !!! The entertainment the night we attended had such a following and appreciation . It's a really casual place that sprawls out onto the food path
2 Adults, 2 kids, arrived well before the evening crowds, due to good reviews here. Nice friendly wait staff, but who sadly continued to foget our dishes and drinks orders. After first dish only a 45 minute wait, we waited 2.45 minutes for our basic entrees to come. We asked 3 times but only got smiles and head shakes. Finally at 2.30 minutes, one waiter empathetically expressed horror that the food never arrived. The kids were crying (quietly). Finally our grilled duck arrived burnt to a crisp. It was 10.45pm, Nowhere else to go. No chance of sending it back! The waiter took off €5 for the small glass of wine we drank, but seemed helpless to do more. As if this way of servicing customers is nightly routine. This was a quiet weeknight, too! What a terrible, terrible experience after a lovely 2 weeks in Cereste and Luberon area, our final night was just a catastrophe due to the inexperienced staff at this basic bistro.
Reillanne is the closest village to where we are staying and we often stopped for a coffee especially market day (Sunday). A nice place to sit and watch the world go by in the morning. We didn't visit at any other time of day. We bought our breakfast in the boulangerie further up. They are quite happy for you to eat it at the cafe as they don't serve breakfast. Service is friendly, although don't expect a fast pace. Overlooks the square.
