Roots Kitchen & Bar - Regina

Tried this place out for lunch during my work day, service was very slow. Arrived at noon, not busy. Appeared to only be two wait staff. Did not get food until 12:45. Too long to wait for a chicken burger and small pizza. Burger was good but not overly memorable, "artisan greens" was a garden salad. Pizza looked doughy. I was late getting back to work.

Food was great and presentation was very nice. Very quiet so u can visit during your mealWe enjoyed the fact that we could actually visit while having our meal. They have Mexican nights once a night. Waitress was very happy to tell us about it. Food in the real authentic Mexican. Cook is mexican and his mother helps him on these nights. Other cook used to work at the sask hotel.

Server was very polite and accomodating. Chef came to our table of nine to ask us how everything was and to chat. Food everyone ordered looked good and portion sizes seemed to be a good value. We were there for lunch and I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with the soup of the day. Simple food choice for me while others ordered the quinoa with salmon, pasta dishes, etc. One of the people in our group had eaten there for brunch and for dinner and raved about the food especially commenting on the delicious French toast. The Chef plans a Mexican night with authentic Mexican food. I plan to return to try other items on their menu. We were seated on benches and since that didn't suit a couple of us we asked if we could switch to chairs. Again the very polite server helped us be more comfortable.

Went for breakfast and had Eggs Benedict. Delicious!! The atmosphere is lovely with relaxing music playing. Service was friendly and efficient. This is truly a hidden gem in Harbour Landing. Highly recommend.

You probably don't even know it's there. Located in the back of the Orange Tree Living complex (near the back) is roots, a restaurant and bar. They have delicious food at reasonable prices. Happy hour is 2:00-5:30 and features half price tapas. The daily feature, at only $10, is a great deal and is enough for a meal. LOTS of gluten free options. It's unfortunate that such a good place is in walking distance for me, I'm afraid I might become a regular.
