By the way: The name "rain" of this river has nothing to do with the precipitation, but it is a word delivered by the Celt that means as much as "the superfoaming". The Valentinsbad is located north of Regenstauf on the road to Nittenau. It is really idyllic in a very natural river landscape. There are large meadows; Even if there is a urge, people run somehow, but the shadows under the trees are denser. A large free parking is available. The entrance to the bathroom is free of charge. Nevertheless, the plant is very well maintained. There are toilets, showers, changing rooms, a children's playground and a beach volleyball court. Here is a very good access for StandUpPaddeling. Barbecues and tents are not allowed. A restaurant that also bears the name “Valentinsbad” is located next to it. The flow rate of the river (usually with the exception of floods) is so low that even less practiced swimmers can handle it. A small artificial sandy beach was created for easy access to the water. There are also tracks with ladders. The water quality is very good and remains in late summer when many bathing lakes complain about an algae plague.
After recommendation, we wanted to try the Valentine's Bath. We were three. My wife ordered the Rumpsteak (special request Pommes instead of fingernails and I wanted the Rumpsteak with asparagus (a expensive dish on the map approx. 20 € our acquaintances had a fish dish. I wanted my steak medium, my wife too. The positive thing to do: The fish was ok and beautifully dressed. The steaks: My plate came and everything floats in an undefined broth. I don't know if the butter and, or asparagus water was. Lot of asparagus good. Unfortunately, everything included Steak drowned with a completely full cup sauce Hollondaise. The steak itself had approx. the size of a 5 euro bill and was about 5 mm thick. I'm completely aware that you can't roast something like that - it was through and tough. The service asked if everything was okay. I told you that Steak was clearly overwhelmed. She disappeared in the kitchen. A cappuccino or a bullet of ice was offered to me for compensation. At that time I was so unhappy and I would like to have eaten a decent meat. Troubleshooting ...OK, therefore only inadequate and not inadequate. The steak of my wife approx. 17 € was also very small and also too through. Unfortunately, the fact that they made ovenpommes from the bag rounds off the impression. Perhaps you have to earn decent food there as a regular: I saw that some plates were carried past our table, where the steaks were at least twice as big as mine and twice as thick. I guess 80g compared to 250g. The roulettes on the neighboring table also looked great. Conclusion: Perhaps you can eat there well. We probably won't find out.
Whenever my way passes by the Valentine's Bath, I'll be here. You will be kindly received here and the food is made fresh every time. Whatever you order, it's always good. Today, at the Ash Wednesday I ordered a Dorade from my own fish card. The request for fileting was immediately affirmed. Excellent, full score. Thank you.
On arrival by bicycle I had pushed, I was very unfriendly approached by a more noble waiter, although he saw that I had turned around again to move to the wheel parking space I had not seen right away. When I remarked quite amazed by this inappropriate behavior that he was friendly, his helper, a somewhat more awkward operation, made a very frustrated impression, came to help him and proved me to be the place in a loud tone. I've never seen anything like that before. Probably it was the heat. Too bad that the two have no idea of the service and probably no desire to earn their money there.
Very nice on the river is the Valentine's Bath with beer garden. Prices are ok, but tasteful is clear air up and you have to take enough time.
