Goldene Ente - Regensburg

We were a large group of and stumbled on this spot. Wonderful service from Andi! Very patient with our boisterous group a great evening out.

This is a simple beirgarden with a wonderful view the the old town. We were a large group and shared some dishes. The kaesespaetzle was amazing! The sausages and pork dishes were basic but good. The services were good despite the place being very busy....We had a relaxing fun evening here. Oh, the prices were very reasonable.

Stopped coming here years ago due to service and quality. Gave a second chance with the new management but unfortunately seems nothing changed quality of food is nothing you should pay for and service is disorientated. For a beer on a sunny day...it's fine.

The Ente has had a pretty bad reputation for a couple of years and rightly so. Under the last management the pub was often understaffed resulting in slow and unfriendly service. The food was terrible and the beer was warm (see comments below). However,...this lovely little pub and Beergarten on the banks of the Danube has just reopened under new management. What a difference! Friendly, attentive waitress, small but interesting menu at very reasonable prices (Schweinebraten and very well cooked meals (particularly the crispy fried trout and roast pork with crackling). In the menu, the new owners say that they are dedicated to using local produce (thumbs up) and many of the side dishes are home-made (spätzle, knödel), not something you often see. We were greeted and said goodbye to by all the staff including the chef and the boss. We were so impressed at lunch, that we have actually already booked a table for an evening meal. Good luck to the new team. If they continue as they have begun, the Goldene Ente will become a very popular beer garden once again.
