The doors were wide open--lots of circulating air for Covid safety. The food. Omg. So so good. Spicy chicken sandwich? Drool. Crispy, saucy, spicy, juicy, with pickle. Biscuits? Saltily delicious. Cajun fries? Ditto. Loved dipping in a variety of sauces: blackened ranch, BBQ, and sweet heat. I put mascarpone and jam on my biscuits and ate them like English scones, but they are great with butter, too.
This review is based on my experience treating it as a fast food restaurant. If you're a fan of fried chicken, you're likely to enjoy Popeyes. My main complaint about this location is its popularity among food delivery drivers, who seem to take precedence over walk-in customers. This often results in longer wait times during busy meal periods. On a positive note, I really appreciate the level of spice in the spicy chicken—it's just right!
I've tried high-end fried chicken countless times, and aside from a few places in Louisiana and Mississippi, nothing beats Popeyes! The same goes for lower-end options as well.
If you're a fan of Fried Chicken, you'll definitely enjoy Popeyes. Their chicken is always freshly prepared, almost as if it's cooked to order. The time it takes for the chicken to be ready varies by location and time of day, but it typically doesn't sit out for long—usually just 1 to 15 minutes. If you prefer your chicken piping hot, you can request that it be made fresh, as long as they aren't already in the process of frying it. Just be cautious of the hot juices, as they can burn your tongue! This is one of the reasons why people rave about their chicken.
