In my opinion, grocery store sushi is a risky option. Even if the fish is good, the rice is not authentic and often falls apart when you try to eat it. Good sushi takes experience and devotion. Sakura is a little sketching away from the outside, in a non-descript grey building. However, it houses the most authentic Sushi restaurant in Redding. Open only three hours a day, Sakura is the kind of eclectic place I always seek. If customers need to adapt their schedule to the restaurant, instead of otherwise knowing that it is something special. I went there for the first time with my oldest son who lived in Japan for a while and married to a Japanese woman. He had been there before and both he and his wife gave him a high praise. There are the usual, non-traditional roles that have become ambiguous in the states. You can also find authentic roles as well as the best Nigiri Sushi I have in a long time. We had Goyza for an appetizer, chose several menu items, each had a beer and placed a second order of our favorites. This variable festival ran us only about thirty dollars a bit before the tip, which I think is a great value. Our server was a real professional. She spent some time with us and made me very welcome. The well prepared food was delivered quickly with a smile. I definitely go back.
This is, without a doubt, the best sushi in town—there's no comparison. It might take a little while to get your order, but it's absolutely worth the wait. The chef is amazing, and the woman in charge of the kitchen is always charming. I highly recommend this fantastic place!
This place serves the best sushi in town! The prices and portion sizes are just right. The chef and waitress are not only friendly but also truly delightful. I really appreciate that their sushi is authentic, without being overwhelmed by sauces and unnecessary extras.
The best sushi place north of Sacramento. There's no frills here, just amazing sushi at a great price. It might take a bit of time, but the wait is worth it because the sushi chef is incredibly talented and genuinely cares about the quality of the food.
Sakura is my favorite sushi. The sushi is always consistent and delicious. It’s a one man, one server operation. I recommend the Tuna Poke and Erica Roll. The prices are very reasonable. Hours are limited so it’s best to go early.
