The new veranda is lovely. I wish there was some way to put a screen on the window. I know it is fall, but we had flies landing on us and our food, and that takes away just a tad. Sorry. Without the flies, everything is great.
Absolutely loved it! They created a nice little patio with beautiful flowers, the river was a little difficult I see in certain areas of the patio but you were still able to see a small part of it. All in all, I would definitely go back again.
We had dinner with friends from out of town. The hostess found a table for us on the patio. The weather was perfect for dining outside. The food was excellent we had a great time.
The wait at the front desk for someone to acknowledge our large party was quite long. We had a reservation, and once someone finally did come by to check us in, we were seated. The waitress did not take a drink order until we had already started eating from the buffet (20 minutes or more from the time we sat down). She acted very flustered and told one of our party that he would have to wait for a while for his **** Mary since there was no bartender. There were numerous disturbing flies swarming our table as well as feasting on the buffet itself. This was quite unappetizing. The quality and selection on the buffet was subpar, and certainly not in keeping with the air of sophistication and upscale surroundings of the St. James Hotel. I have taken many people there for the buffet in the past, and it was always excellent. This was a disappointment that will not be forgotten when it comes to future events. Perhaps the casino would be a better choice.
