It's supposedly their feature item, especially in Remington Grill's "JB's lounge".When asked what was her recommendation, the waitress couldn't resist telling me that the most ordered, best item on the menu, was the Steak Sandwich. She said it was an award winning steak sandwich and for only $11.75, was an incredible deal. After overhearing the neighbouring table order 2 steak sandwiches, I ordered one myself. I though it must be great, everybody was talking about it and ordering them. When my steak sandwich arrived, the plate looked pathetic. No thought was given in the presentation. The garlic toast was cold. I chose the Garlic Mashed Potatoes as my side, once again on the recommendation of the waitress. They were smooth, but the taste was bland. I couldn't even taste the garlic. The steak sandwich also came with a really small plastic condiment bowl of cole slaw. It was about a tablespoon's worth of cole slaw squished into this tiny condiment container. It also tasted blah. After sampling the sides and being disappointed, I thought the steak would save the day. After all, that is what this Remington's and JB's Pub rests it's laurels on.I ordered my steak medium. It was a thick steak and it looked nicely charred. When I cut into the steak, it was oozing blood. The steak was barely cooked inside. It was so fleshy, it was almost like eating raw meat. Clearly the chef severely under cooked it. I bit my tongue and decided not to complain. I never send food back to the kitchen. What made matters worse, is that the cut of meat used, was so tough, it took a lot of effort just to chew it. Honestly, my jaw hurt chewing this steak. It had minimal flavour and was not enjoyable. It was easily one of the least desirable steak sandwiches I have ever had. I would have gladly paid a few dollars more and got a decent steak sandwich elsewhere. I have tried many superior steak sandwiches in pubs other than JB's lounge, at only $3 to $4 more, with decent side dishes. If price is what your looking for, then this gets the award for cheapest steak sandwich at $11.75, all the time. If you want a steak sandwich more succulent and flavourful, with better tasting sides, then look elsewhere. I'm not sure who gave this steak sandwich "award winning" status, but they need to give their head a shake. On a positive note, the lounge was really clean and comfortable and service was very friendly.
Stopped at JB's lounge for the steak sandwich. It was as expected which is very good. It's up to $10.50 now but you're not going to get a better deal.
We had a reservation for Sunday Brunch for a party of 10. When we arrived our table was ready, beautifully set up in a "square" as opposed to a long table. This was an excellent set up & allowed for all the members of our party to visit easily. Our brunch included free mimosa's, which were excellent. Not all of our party arrived @ the same time, so we visited, & were under no pressure to hurry up & eat. Our waitress was amazing. When our entire gang was there, we started our indulging in all the delicious food. Even though it was already 1:00, & the buffet had begun a few hours previously, all the food was hot & fresh. The selection was unbelievable, & the quality was beyond compare. We can hardly wait to go back!!
Stopped in for a quick buffet meal here on Friday night.Service was excellent, you usually don't get this kind of service at a buffet but this place was different. Keep up the good work and we will continue to stop in.Meal was fresh, and the presentation was excellent.
Went with a group of 15 for Sunday brunch and was not disappointed. We made reservations (recommend reservations as they were very busy) and were seated quickly. Staff was friendly and attentive. Buffet had a great selection of food, hot foods were hot. No-one left hungry.
