The Sportsman - Reading

Warm welcome, staff very friendly and knowledgeable about local area. Food looked good for prices, will definitely drop back for dinner soon!

I was contemplating to write this review or not but eventually came to conclusion that I should. Went there today early evening (1800 hrs) for a quick pint with one of my friend(both of us are British Indians). After cold reception we sat on a random 2 seater table with more than half of seating area empty. In 15 minutes we were told that table is reserved and A4 paper- this table is reserve at 1930 was put on small table of ours. We said, we are leaving. Won 't go there again anytime soon. So much for my local pub ...huh..

Food was great, enjoyed my tikka curry, once u add a bit of salt on rice is nice. It was good price SAM was amazing such a lovely waiter Enjoyed experience nice spot to be with friends

We were served by Sam and she really helped us out. She was really lovely and friendly . The food came out really quick and was very very affordable. I was craving the roast and I’m glad I came here.

What a really nice pub this is, after a very long 5 hour drive from the north, we needed a good meal, we both had the steak and ale pie served with minted peas and chips. And it was very tasty and filling. The staff were super friendly too 5* from me
