Handel's Homemade Ice Cream

So many flavors to choose from! The scoops are generous in size. We tried butter pecan, cotton candy, chocolate chip cookie dough and pistachio. My favorite was the butter pecan but all were great. We came around 9 PM on a Saturday night and there was still a line.

We love having a Handel's close to us. My husband and I were going in for a little dessert. My husband went for his favorite Black Cherry. I wanted to try something different. The young gentleman had to explain each flavor I asked about because of Covid there are no samples. He was so nice and patient even though some new customers were coming in. I ended up taking Tin Lizzy and it was very yummy. I wish I had got his name, but wanted you to know that your employee did exceptionally. . We were there at 5:30 pm today.

Banana cream pie on chocolate dipped waffle cone: Holy wow this was realllllllly good. The banana ice cream is super light and the marshmallow swirls weren't too sweet either. I wish the sugar cookie chunks were bigger bc it's hard to taste but from what i could taste it kind of tasted like circus animal cookies without the frosting? The choco waffle cone was super good too. Perfect waffle cone thickness and texture and the chocolate wasn't too sweet either. 5/5

Classic style ice cream, creamy and not too sweet. Got the mud pie and midnight madness which is a combination of dark chocolate and peanut butter. They also have gluten-free options.

My family and I stopped by as we had never been to Handel's and we LOVE ice cream. We saw a line and thought this must be amazing! The staff was very attentive and friendly, but the ice cream left something to be desired. Especially for the price we paid. One family member got the cheesecake with Oreo and disliked the taste (said it had a sour/bitter taste) so they ordered an additional scoop of something else while they were scooping my pistachio. On the reselect they chose a black raspberry truffle (or something like that). They said it was better than the first, but still mediocre and too sweet. My pistachio was also VERY sweet. I basically ended up eating the bites with nuts because that balanced out the sugar and tossed the rest. Had high hopes, but overly sweet for our taste.
