Straw Hat Pizza - Rancho Cordova

I absolutely love this place! We need more restaurants like it! The location is fantastic, and the young people who work here are very friendly and respectful.

It's a pizza place that tends to be loved or hated. I didn't find it as good as I remembered, although they did have a small salad bar. It was decent. Personally, pizza isn't my favorite food; I find it too heavy with all that cheese.

Staff and owners are very friendly and attentive, respectful is an understatement. Very relaxed, beautiful and cool with couch like sitting, or chairs if you want. I like to go there and have a nice fresh salad from the salad bar and a personal pizza with 2 toppings and a glass of ice tea. At the end of lunch I usually feel more relaxed and tired. Very recommended.

Nostalgia can be a powerful drug. I grew up in Sacramento and have fond memories of Straw Hat Pizza, so when I finally returned to the city after a long time, I couldn't resist the chance to revisit my favorite pizza spot. However, I'm not sure if my taste buds are different now or if the restaurant has changed, but the pizza didn't quite live up to my memories. The crust was rather brittle, reminiscent of a more upscale version of Totino's. The toppings were acceptable, though they left an odd aftertaste. While the price was reasonable, my experience was a disappointment, as it tarnished the cherished memories I once had.

Attended jazz concert here. They have them regularly, and my favorite duo was scheduled. Good pizza, good salad bar, good seating, good music. Salad bar ran out of lettuce and spinach at one point, or this would have been 5 stars.
