Definitely my go to place in Varanasi. On the banks of Assi Ghat, the restaurant is located in the outdoors just overlooking the river. I've been a regular for years and never tire of this place or the food. Firstly, The thin crust pizzas are great and worth the wait. But the award goes to their apple pies. I would give them a 5 star if only they weren't always in short supply of those incredible apple pies. Go here. If only for these, but go early before they get sold out!
So, went here after our evening boating ride. Yes, we were very hungry. We ordered pizzas and apple pie. The food was well made. The services were a bit slow, but can be understood because it was saturday evening. The staff is also friendly. :)
I loved the food because the pizza was thin crust. Everybody should must try mixed veggie pizza and apple pie with a ice cream . The only thing that was weak was the service and interior
This place is an absolute must visit for anyone in Benaras. Quite easy to miss, it's only announced by a modest signboard on Assi Ghat, right next to a bookshop. I'd gone to the city convinced that I'd only eat street food, but found myself coming back to Vaatika almost every day because the food, the view and the people were all addictive. All the food is great, but the pizzas and the apple pie are definitely the highlight of the menu. They make pizza in proper wood fire ovens, with their cooks trained by European chefs. The result is heaven on your plate. The apple pie is the house special, generally sold out by evening. Come early and come hungry, for a generous slice of crumbly pastry, cinnamon-y apples and melting vanilla ice cream. To add to the experience is the view. The cafe is perched at a height, right on the ghat. You get an uninterrupted view of the river, boats and ghat, with a breeze to offset the generally unrelenting sun. In short, go here.
