Kirtipasha Jamindar Bari - Ramganj

It is a huge complex and the largest jamindar house in the region. the main building had 200 rooms, it is currently under a local school authority. the rest of the building is ruined and must be preserved. the history must also be properly documented.

The historic Kritipasha zamindar's bari is located 8 km away from Jhalokati. This house is about 200 years old. Kalipurush was the original man of Kirtipasha zamindarbari. There are still several old houses witnessed by the kings. This is a great place to spend time.

Kirtipasha Zamindar Bari was established about a hundred year ago. Part of the dynasty of the Bikrampuri Zamindar established the Kirtipasha Zamindar Bari in Jhalokati district in the late 19th century. In the early 19th century, King Ram Sengupta of the Bikrampur Zamindari dynasty came to this village of Kirtipasha. Here he built two houses for his two sons. The old house for the eldest son which was purba bari-10 annas known as the big share zamindar house and the house for the youngest son, which was purba bari- 6 annas known as the small share of zamindar house. The younger son's zamindar's house was destroyed long ago.Some parts of the eldest son's zamindar's house have still survived. The zamindar's son of this zamindar's house was poisoned to death and his wife also died with him. They were later buried together. There have still been a theater, hall, small and big temples. Rohini Roy Chowdhury and Tapan Roy Chowdhury are two famous persons of this zamindari dynasty.
