I have traveled to various European countries, including Italy, the home of espresso, and this cappuccino ranks among the best. I also tried the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a maple biscuit, and it was delicious. I would recommend this place, although parking and seating can be a bit challenging due to its popularity among NC State college students.
This has been my favorite café spot ever since it first opened in Lafayette Village. When I was in college, I would often consider driving all the way back to Raleigh just to grab one of their vanilla lattes and chocolate chip waffles. And don't even get me started on their speck, egg, and cheddar cookies – they are hands down the best you will find anywhere. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is always fantastic. I will always go out of my way for my Jubala fix.
The coffee at this restaurant is good, but availability can be unpredictable. I usually order coffee with my lunch, and it is typically the classic variety, which is very popular. However, it seems that they do not make fresh pots in the afternoon, possibly as a cost-saving measure. If they run out of coffee and you ask for more, they refuse to brew a new pot. Also, a curious detail is that both the 12-ounce and 16-ounce brewed coffees cost the same: $3.80. Another thing to note is that if they claim they do not have room for cream in your cup, they will just add more hot water instead of more coffee. I have witnessed this myself.
I tried the mandellatte and it was really great, seems as if the taste is made in the house from mandel. I also like the free Friday espresso. good to have a load to drink from tassen with tellers if we spill something.
Comfortable location for aloft guests. great food and drinks. amazing and friendly staff! all for a worthy thing.
