It can be somewhat confusing as the building/door is under the banner of Alba steakhouse and the Zef Cicchetti part is faded as it no longer exists. Don't be afraid! It's all the same. You need to go to the door at the corner to get into the facility, including the roof terrace food. The roof is very nice, with a full bar and TV, which is perfect for warm days. The restaurant is basically broken into three sections. The roof top, and then the three dining areas down. One is mainly stalls and seems to eat more sophisticated. Then there is a bar/dining area and then a smaller table section over it. I ate every one of them except the bar below. Every time, the servers were attentive without rushing. The food was always DELICIOUS. If you are a great seafood lover like me, you can order crab cakes and ro homes for a starter. These were the best raw oysters I've ever had in my life. For Entrees we have the Diavolo Linguine and the grilled octopus. Both were very delicious. We also got a sequence of truffles with us to be addicted, and I ordered every time I returned to this place! It's all beautifully paired with a Chianti red wine. Suitable for solo, friends, families and appointments. More high and expensive, but it is worth in food! Parking can run a bit on this busy restaurant street so you need to go up and around the side streets to find parking. At the corner of Hancock and Walter J. Hannon there is a small free parking space that has stains.
One of the best places to enjoy three environments at once. You can either have cocktails and appetizers at the terrace during the summer time, watch a game at the ample bar downstairs or have a formal dinner for a date or with family at their well decorated dinner tables. Their selection for seafood and comfort dishes makes this eclectic restaurant an excellent choice in downtown Quincy.
Alba is a great Mediterranean restaurant a bit pricey but the food is really high quality so you get what you pay for. When it's warm the roof deck is unmatched especially compared to other restaurants in Quincy. In my opinion it's in the top three restaurants in Quincy.
Surprisingly good food. The rooftop deck is beautiful. My only complaint is the music was so loud I felt like I was dinning in a night club. I asked multiple times for the music to be lowered, and it was hardly adjusted. It was almost so loud I wouldn't consider going back, except the food truly was good and there's nothing else like it in Quincy. Maybe next time will be better. I'll keep you posted.
So, the food here is always excellent. But, the experience should be SO much better. A Friday night, still a little cool out, but one of the first spring feeling nights of the year, we sat up on the roof deck, 4 of us. We ordered drinks, then appetizers and meals. The soups came after about 15 minutes. It's soup how could it take that long? The appetizer was then a good 15 minutes after that! It then took at LEAST another 40 !! minutes for the main dishes to arrive. The server was attentive and kind, but that delay is crazy. AND, one of the meals was incorrect!! Over an hour since we had ordered, and now we had to wait another almost 20 minutes for the salmon. They didn't even offer to take that off the bill or anything, which would seem the obvious good faith move. That said, we finished and paid. The food WAS delicious all around, and the atmosphere is a lovely oasis in the middle of Quincy. I just want this place to DO BETTER, try harder. I have to admit, I was a little bit embarrassed to have vouched for this place to the friends I brought, only to have them experience this kind of lack of hospitality. I'd be so much more likely to go back sooner and more often if I wasn't afraid I'd have the same kind of weak experience there again.
