I ordered a 20 oz drink, and I found the prices to be reasonable. The service was impressively quick—I received my drink just a few minutes after sitting down. It was evident that most of the patrons were aged 45 and up. However, after about ten minutes, I found myself engaging in pleasant conversations with some locals. Everyone I spoke with was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They shared their stories and showed genuine interest in what I had to say. Feeling encouraged, I decided to try the food. I was informed that the kitchen was temporarily closed—likely due to a shift change—but within 20 minutes, I was able to place my order. I opted for the Steak Bomb, which is essentially a Philly cheesesteak with peppers, and I also ordered fried pickles. The pickles were excellent; they were sliced instead of being in spears, which is a nice touch, as good fried pickles can be hard to come by. Everything tasted fantastic, the portion sizes were satisfying, and I felt the prices were fair. Overall, I think this place is a gem. I met some really nice regulars, and I definitely plan to come back. I'm also curious to see how the atmosphere changes around 9 pm. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that, in 2017, it operates on a cash-only basis. Most people my age tend to use credit cards, and I usually don't carry much cash—luckily, I had some on me this time!
This is an ideal neighborhood spot if you're in the mood for a relaxed atmosphere. The food is delicious, and the drink prices are excellent. Just remember to bring cash, as they don’t accept cards.
One of my favorite all-time places. Great service, food and of course the bar team.
It's a neighborhood bar. Nothing fancy. They have several TVs, which is a plus. The beer was ice cold, but tasted stale. The bartender was not familiar with a Cosmopolitan so we got a vodka/cranberry.
The bartenders are very friendly, and there's a great sense of community with plenty of regulars throughout the week. The atmosphere is welcoming, which makes for a nice crowd. There are at least five TVs, making it a perfect spot to catch Bruins, Celtics, or Manchester United games. The food is excellent for a bar setting, and the Chicken Curry is particularly amazing. They offer full meals, not just appetizers. I believe the kitchen closes around 9 or 10 PM most days. It's a cash-only bar, but there's an ATM available on-site.
