This is a new branch after their two branches jn Quezon City. Great concept, wish then had flavors with some nuts like pistachio or almonds. Their decor is innovative and flavors creative. All natural is tough to find in Philippines.
I love Papa Diddi 's! They have some of the loveliest and unique ice cream flavors, at such a fantastic price point. I mean, really, the moment a restaurant adds the word organic to their name, and you know it simply has to be expensive (Because, you know, organic . However, Papa Diddi 's is true value for money; great-tasting ice cream that blows the competition out of the water at friendly prices. If you 're going to go to Papa Diddi 's for the first time, you can try the Brown Rice, Tarragon, and Sweet Potato flavors. They are really good, I promise. Best to order two or three flavors and have it all at once. Amazing.
The timing for our foodie field trip to Maginhawa couldn 't have been any better! The sweltering summer heat, coupled with weird, scattered drizzles had us wanting the relief of a refreshing summer treat and what better way to end the day than with ice cream. Born from a history of homemade ice cream, this charmingly decorated shopshop offers delectable creations made with natural ingredients like chocolate from Davao, Batangas barako coffee, and black rice from the Mountain Province amongst others. Because they use natural ingredients and do not use artificial coloring with their ice cream, we figured it was safe to have a serving each. My friend ordered a scoop of their sweet basil ice cream, which had just a light hint of basil definitely a welcome taste given our rich fare earlier in the day. I ordered their churros and had it topped with their coffee ice cream instead of the usual chocolate, because I felt like I needed a jolt of caffeine to keep me awake on the drive home. The churros was beautiful, golden brown and crunchy on the outside and served warm, perfectly matching the perfect blend of coffee and cream in form of their Coffee Addiction ice cream. We were indeed on a natural high with our scoops of ice cream, churros, and summer goodness.
My little brother and I stopped by this quaint ice cream parlor for a quick dessert on our way home last night and I just have to start by giving a HUGE thank you to Papa Diddi for introducing us to the indescribable wonder that is sweet potato ice cream. Wow, I don't think we'll be getting over this one any time soon. From the hardbound collection of books all over the shelves and hanging from the ceiling, to the handwritten chalkboard menu, to the cookie jars and tubs of ice cream on clear display, to the free taste !!! , and to the smiling photo of Papa Diddi himself, I think I fell in love with the whole place from the moment I walked in. It's small, sure, but it oozes with the nostalgia of being a kid again and I'm not even that old, mind you . Their flavors are an interesting bunch made from fresh ingredients every day yay for supporting local farmers! , like Roasted Forbidden Rice black rice from the Mt. Province and Davao Meets Bicol dark tsokolate and sili . We definitely got a treat with their Dulce Gato light vanilla from Cagayan Valley and Sweet P., which I still can't put into any justifiable words, but man, was that something else. The story up on the wall does hold true ice cream here at Papa Diddi's is a labor of love with goodness in every scoop.
