Invited to lunch at this place, and as a Japanese restaurant there were many options, which I like. Price range between 220 -450 per dish, with a decent variety of drinks to choose from. The rolls were a bit difficult to handle - rice was not consistent in quality and not rolled firm enough. They broke apart sometimes when you picked them up. Winning dishes - Uni Sushi (like the sea exploded in your mouth), Sandaime Roll (salmon and mango always a good combo), crispy tuna maki (balanced flavors), scallops, cheese roll (good smoke on the torched cheese) and tofu steak. Skip the overpriced edamame and the Onigiri and yakisoba - I've had better elsewhere. Worth a visit once in a while.
Plus: Serving size is above average and the baked oysters taste good. Minuses: Mediocre taste versus high prices; Poor service; Poor timing of plates/orders; For what you're getting the price you're getting it, just go to Yabu instead.
Nothing special.. In fact, we ate here 3-4 hours ago but I couldn't remember anything remarkable nor upsetting. Food is so so, and so is the service. This is an exact replica of sumo sam from 10 years ago and with japanese restos sprouting here and there, they should also step up their game.
My favorite thing to order here is the Chicken Teriyaki Pizza. Thin crust pizza with chicken, mangoes, teriyaki sauce, some spices, and cheese. Yum! Also, I enjoyed their volcano roll. The chicken teriyaki with rice was saks lang. I do not know if ako lang ba or what, but the chicken was kinda matigas. The rice was covered with cheese so I was like able to finish 3/4 of it. Service: ???? friendly staff.
