This is a famous chain restaurant in India and serves good food.I walked in just before their afternoon break, so it was slow and yet, it took some time to get the food on table.
I was really REALLY looking forward to this buffet. The last time I had Indian buffet was in 2019 nearby Philadelphia and I thought it was tasteless. The last good Indian buffet I had was at the golden peacock at the venetian hotel in Macau and taj mahal hotel buffet in new Delhi. Paid $25 including tip.Maybe this is a one off but after the meal, I had diarrhea immediately afterwards. I immediately thought it might be the water but had to remind myself I am in NYC.The food was a disappointment. Everything that I tried, but the tandoori chicken, lacked Indian flavor. For instance, I felt like I was eating pink sauce rather than a masala tomato cream sauce. Chicken was moist and tender though. The palek paneer tasted one dimensional, the paneer was good. The dal tadek felt slightly authentic (like a free non veg meal at a Indian temple) but I don't come to Indian buffet to just enjoy lentils.... The goat curry was ok. I didn't try the egg fried rice even though it looked really good. The naan was thin crispy and good. Didn't try the vegetable samosa. The Gulab Jamun was ok, could've been more tender, lacked the rosewater and butter flavor that I'm accustomed to.Service was really good. Very accommodating.Atmosphere I rated lower because it was warm and humid inside the restaurant. I was sweating constantly. Probably won't go back to eating Indian buffet for a very long time unless I'm traveling to India or Macau.
Nice atmosphere but small portions. Veg thali had one small dal, one small aloo sabji, rice, one papad and some condiments. No roti or naan. It was the first time that I've still been pretty hungry after eating an entire thali. They've also raised prices for most items by $2. But the staff was nice.Food: 2/5
We went to Tuesday evening and was happy to see the chhoila. But it was waste of money. Chhoila was smelling as it might be made days back and aloo has no salt at all.
Worst place to get nepali food.. the food was not tasting good. I love sadeko chat pat. And they have the worst. Server was good tho. The owner needs to stop being cheap and find a better chief and pay the chief well.
