We loved the location, loved the atmosphere and our server was also excellent. Husband and I ate inside, the restaurant was full, but the tables were so far away that we felt safe to eat and drink our masks. Our food was fresh, hot and really... good. We will return on our next trip.
Great food, service and environment. Nice location. Walking distance from old Quebec. Perfect place. I place to eat and enjoy
A fun hip place with excellent food and creative cocktails! Pros: The atmosphere is fabulous. With three floors of bar/restaurant level, it is loud, it is fun, it is beautifully decorated. The Bisontare was amazing. I came with my heart put on the salmon star... or another seafood tart, but the bartender beat Bison, and it was exquisite. He said it was his friend's favorite. If I lived nearby, I would come for another tartar every day of the week. Drink menu is creative, and Garnishes are good. I loved all unisex bathrooms. Each bathroom also had a sink inside. There was a lot, and because they were all unisex with their own sink, there was rarely a line outside of them. So nice that you don't wait behind someone to do their hair or share a mirror. —- Negative: I don't think it's a cone, but it's a little loud. I saw some other groups struggling to have a conversation, but that doesn't seem to be the mood that this restaurant puts on! Think of live DJs and a wall of sound and wonderful lively conversation and laughter. So I wouldn't call it a competitor, but it's certainly something to know. This place is not for a quiet date night. —— Tips: Wednesday night is dollar oyster night! Don't know how long it will take, so get it as long as you can!
My boyfriend is the foodie in our relationship. Whenever we go on vacation he looks forward to eating good food that is a reflection of the place we are visiting and certainly doesn’t mind paying for food that is exceptional as that is part of...the whole travel experience. We went to L’Atelier on the recommendation of someone who has been there and is from the area. We were seated as soon as we arrived, which was nice as we thought we might have to wait as we were a little early for our reservation. It all went down hill after that. Our waiter was not very welcoming, he did not offer any pleasantries when he arrived, no “hello, how are you this evening”, nothing. It almost seemed as though we were inconveniencing him just by being there. He took our drink orders and our food order right away which we were actually happy about as we were not feeling comfortable being there. I ordered the mahi mahi, my boyfriend ordered oysters as an appetizer and the cheese burger with fries. After the meal was delivered our waiter did not come back to our table to ask if everything was ok. We had to ask a waitress for ketchup! My mahi mahi was over cooked so it was dry and did not have any flavour. My boyfriends burger was also dry and not appetizing, he ate half of it. The burger is their signature dish, angus beef burger, REALLY? A very disappointing dinner, especially since it had been highly recommended. Not worth the money, I don’t recommend this restaurant to anyone that knows good food, you will be extremely disappointed.
