After calling in we were given another spot n owner met us to assist locating it as it was dark by then. We enjoyed our time in the pool. We enjoyed our walk around the grounds see the creek, old mill n covered bridge. Took many nice photos. Convenient to downtown Quakertown market too. Second visit to our new favorite restaurant Country Place nearby. All the workers were very friendly during our stay. We stayed in our travel trailer- two nights over the wkd.
Upon arrival Erin greeted us at the desk and was super helpful in explaining the amenities and activities. I was thrilled to have a paint night on Saturday. I met a lot of wonderful people. My daughter and her friend were excited to explore the campground looking for Bigfoot. While I was getting setup they played with the giant legos at the park. Once settled we relaxed by the pool and ordered some ice cream from the cafe. Kristine made the best sundaes Each of us got a different type. G th brought it the week we ate at the cafe a few times. When it rained we played the games in the cafe and went to the game room where the games were actually free. There was so much to do that we were never bored and the kids never complained which is enough of a reason for me to return again next year. Maybe even in the fall too.
I have been camping at Tohickon campground for the last 12 years. Staff is GREAT! They have a well stocked store, many activities for families to do and a beautiful clean pool and bath house. The nights are quiet for a campfire in the ring that is provided at your site. Their store even sells firewood if you run out. The sites are big and mostly shaded. I would highly recommend!
Can see upgrading going on, so the construction mess is understandable . But also the sewer was brand new on our site. Water pressure awesome and electric constant , not jumping all over the place . This was our first time, but not the last :
This was our 5th time staying here, and unfortunately will be our last. We are tent campers, and have always loved staying in the Tohickon Point section. When we arrived for this stay, we were shocked to see that 99% of the mature shade trees have been removed from the Tohickon Point area, resulting in zero shade, zero privacy between sites, and a bunch of stumps left behind as tripping hazards. We went to the office and were told that the trees were diseased and needed to be removed. While I understand it couldn't be avoided, there really should be some notice posted on the website alerting campers to the situation. We never would have stayed there if we knew we'd be camping in a wide open field. In the picture below, all the purple dots are stumps that were left behind. Such a shame, this was our go-to spot, but we won't be returning.
