Lotus Pond - Pyrmont

This restaurant is located on the second floor of The Star and is exclusive for members only. You must be a Gold or higher member to access this restaurant. I had to sign in before entering. The food is decent, I recommend trying the daily special.

Lotus Pond has been replaced by Oasis restaurant, which is a Chinese restaurant that falls short in comparison. If you take Lotus Pond and remove the chopsticks, ban children, take away decorations and the aquarium, change the menu, eliminate corn soup, and reduce customer traffic by 80%, you would have Oasis.

We arrived without a reservation midweek, it was busy but not full. The front of th restaurant is lovely with a small 'pond ' at the entrance. Our kids both thought it was great. We were seated promptly in the front area of the restaurant. Other families with children were also in this area think it might be how they make sure other diners aren 't disturbed by children.The last time we visited 5 years ago as a couple) we were seated further into the restaurant. Staff are very attentive and our meals arrived very quickly. We probably would have preferred more time before our main meals arrived as they were on the table before we had all finished our entrees. We ordered 4 entrees, rice, 3 mains incl. prawns) and drinks incl. beer). Our steamed rice didn 't arrive but I don 't think we would have been able to eat it anyway we all were very full. The total bill was close to $200. Pricey but delicious and a special occasion, so happy to pay it.

Very nice food at Lotus Pond... Good service. Price is ok...

This is the best Chinese food I have ever tasted, hands down.
