The steak while beautifully cooked sits on a platter designed to keep it warm which actually is very ineffectual. The salad was barely dressed and the chips tasted a little stale. Sadly the service was also very slow. We had a new French lady and while you want to be supportive of new staff they really should be trained on some basics first. For example - how does the cook like to prepare his steaks or how long should you wait to get your drink order. (10 minutes is a little too long - especially when the restaurant is 20% full) With wooden floors it is also important for staff to wear shoes that don't tap tap tap all night long.So overall a little disappointing
My wife and I had the house speciality, the sirloin steak with frites, special sauce and walnut salad. The steak arrives on a platter already cut which is a great touch. Unfortunately, ours were lukewarm and the "warmer" the platter sits on isn't effective as the little candle is in the middle but the 2 steaks are on the sides. The frites were disappointing ... perhaps not cooked enough and the walnuts would be best roasted before putting on salad. I guess we thought as this is the house speciality they would nail all three elements and frankly they should. We shared the profiterole dessert which was a surprise. It was yummy but isn't the usual one with custard inside the pastry rather an open "profiterole" with ice cream and delicious dark chocolate sauce. Three balls, all very delicious. The restaurant must be congratulated for the 4 different wine options: glass, 2 carafe sizes and 750ml bottle with a good selection of French wines. We enjoyed a rose and a cab sav mix which were both enjoyable. They came in these gorgeous 250ml carafes. Oh, they offer BYO wine as well during the week.I think our waitress was on her first night as she appeared lost most of the time. She spoke lovely French but when asked anything not on the menu she struggled, for example, a chef will usually have a preferred way of cooking steak and we always choose that way but our waitress didn't understand this is the standard. Oh well, she is learning.I'm not sure we'll be back because there are so many good choices of eateries these days.
We really enjoyed our meal at Brasserie l'Entrecote. We ordered the signature steak dish and the duck - both were delicious. We spent a few minutes trying to identify the ingredients in the secret steak sauce. For dessert we shared the tarte tatin and vacherin au chocolate. Both were yummy as were the mocktails although I would have liked the addition of mint in my virgin mojito. The service was fantastic, our waitress offered her recommendations which we took and the food and drinks came quickly. We were charged for another table's coffees and desserts but that was quickly resolved once we pointed out the mistake on our bill.
Came here to celebrate Mother's Day with a dinner. And it was truly a lovely night! The moment you step inside, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The decor is amazing and the staff attentive. We ordered the roast chicken and Steak and Frites. The meat was so tender and the sauces packed with flavour. The bread and butter was divine, the salad and beans delicious. Dessert was alright. I had the Lemon tart. It was nice, but the proportion of lemon filling to meringue was out for me. Too much lemon, making it quite tart for my liking. Other than that, I can't fault anything. In summary, great vibe, great service, amazing mains and sides. The only truly bad thing about this restaurant is that I can't pronounce the name hahaha. Definately recommend!
Visited the restaurant on Sunday, 6th August for the first time. Warm welcome by Maitre D .Atmosphere pleasant, could be improved with better lighting, linen, and larger print for menu. The menu offers adequate choice of entrees, mains and desserts, there is also a Bar Menu for quicker meals.Food is freshly prepared, attractively served and true to description on the menu. Serving size is also very good. Pricing is very competitive with other restaurants..
