If you want to go anyway, just be there early in the morning when they haven't sold their things in the market. I went in the evening and still got a few things, which later I realized I could get in the rest of places. Almost (if not) every bakery in Pushkar is full vegan thanks to them!
The owner supplies lots of restaurants and hotels with his baked treats, including 'Out of the Blue ' but is currently not baking, due to an operation but is waiting to resume after some rest. We met him and had a lovely no-milk special recipe chai and spent a while at his home chatting.
The best part about my recent stay in Pushkar was discovering that my guest house sells vegan cake, croissants, cookies, and other treats made by Krishna, Pushkar's only vegan baker. Krishna's treats can be found at Pushkar Inn guesthouse as well as at his much smaller home shop at the address above. Also highly recommended are Krishna's marvelous, detoxifying Ayurvedic massages. Not for the meek, however: this is a no-clothes situation that might make more modest types uncomfortable.
I visited The Real German Bakery several times in Sept 2010, the owners Krishna and Sangetta were very friendly and welcoming. I would recommend a visit for the spicy chai-the best I had in India. For baked goods the chocolate brocquette and cinnamon roll were very good. I also got brown bread and rolls to take away which were good. I was very happy to find bread, cakes and chai which are vegan as it is rare in India. This isn't so much a cafe but you can sit on the rooftop which overlooks Pushkar's sacred lake, its a peaceful space where sometimes you will see monkeys playing in the trees.
Please don't lose this place! The welcoming atmosphere and the bakery provide some of the best bread you'll find in downtown restaurants. The friendly family running it offers excellent service, and if you’re curious about the baker, ask about their trip to Germany!
