Pergola - Puerto Princesa

We went to this restaurant as a group of 4 people. There’s a menu on the wall with a mixed selection of European or Thai dishes. The owner was really helpful and spoke really good English, she also made recommendations as to what to try as I was a bit stuck for choice as it all sounded so good. We had the pork chops with mushroom sauce and mash potato, the pomelo salad and the pad Thai. The pad Thai wasn’t authentic and was much more like pancit than pad Thai. The pork chop dish was absolute delicious and just what we needed after having eaten so much rice in the two weeks before our visit to this restaurant. The pomelo salad was also superb, I could have eaten it over and over again.

Wowww what can I say. I first discovered this little hidden gem in Puerto Princessa about 3 weeks ago and I have been working my way through the menu. If you want food that is personal to you and crafted to the standard that I know you want then this is the place. Mel the chef cooks your meal to order, nothing is made in mass, you come in take your seat, order a drink, order your food to whatever you desire, mild, spicy or like me spicy, spicy, spicy and Mel will unleash her craft and prepare your food to the highest standard ever. If you want I stand gratification and fast food then there are plenty of alternative places for you to eat. Your meal will take about 15-20 minutes to prepare and be delivered to you and you will not be disappointed. Creating food to this standard is an art and like any art the better it becomes when perfection is applied. The menu is in the wall because it rotates and changes. One of the unique things is you will never see the same arrangement. The key to this amazing place is nothing is a problem and if you would like something in the menu tailored to your specific taste then all you need to do is ask. Patience is the answer, so turn up with a bit of time on your side and allow Mel to give your taste buds and experience to remember.

Cordon bleu was really good and tasty! They use good quality cheese and the fresh fries on the side was the perfect partner for it. You can also replace fries to mash potatoes which is also very good.

Great little restaurant great ambiance fast efficient service great selection of Thai and western dishes parking available in the lane at the side smoking and non smoking area!

Small place I found through TripAdvisor and having lived in Thailand for a few years tried there green curry and I wasn't disappointed, I was the only person inside but that didn't deter me from having a great meal very spicy which I like would highly recommend.
