Fonda Americana Grill - PUERTO MORELOS

We went to this special restaurant for a friend's birthday. Maybe because it was a Tuesday night, we had the whole restaurant for ourselves! Our waiter and the boss/owner pulled out all the stations. They tied the music, made sure we had everything we needed. We started with Calamari and a Caesar salad. The Caesar salad was one of the best I ever had. Our main were steaks after the waiter showed us the different cuts we had on Arranchera, Tbone and Filet. All were cooked for perfection. We mentioned the birthday and the cook created a beautiful dessert with a beautiful inscription on the plate. And the best part was the red wine from France! Next time we will return to Puerto Morelos.

There was the super bowl. Go back and try some items from the menu. The shrimps had so amazing taste I almost licked the bowl clean. The house salad had a blue cheese drop and the salmon and the vegetables had this taste that I could not get enough oh. Eric and roberto. Thank you for making my evening a better place. We had the best Fonda burger with delicious tender meat and cheese and grilled onions. I had the slider size which was perfect. The regular size comes with crispy French fries. It was the best burger and I am from Wisconsin! He uses US beef which likely explains why it was so good. Roberto a wonderful host. It is located in The Colonia part of Puerto Morelos, a taxi is 40 pesos from the beach part.

With my father and son. Kid had a delicious steak bigger than him. Unbelievable taste and presentation. Other meals were mushroom soup and fonda burger slider and caesar salad and buffalo chicken burger. The chicken was 3 times bigger, then the bungalow and very tasty. Everyone enjoyed their meal very much. Service was great. Very clean and attractive. Very hospitable. Very recommended. Will be back as soon as we get back. Great job!

My husband and I have lived in Puerto for two months now and we gave been visiting all the top rated restaurants to gather 5 or 6 that we want to eat at regularly. Why it took so long to find this place I am not sure, but awfully glad we did. First thing..you feel like you stepped into a nice little American Bistro. Lovely decor and a/c! We were greeted immediately by the owner and chef Roberto. He trained in New York and speaks great English. We started out with the Ginger Carrot soup. It was excellent, nice flavors. Then a beautifully plated Arugula salad with homemade dressing. Crisp and refreshing. There are so many things we want to return and try but we both opted for hamburgers and were not disappointed like so many other places in Puerto. A large juicy hand shaped patty cook perfect with fresh cheeses and sauces and fresh cut French fries, crisp and not greasy. We enjoyed a bottle of French wine that I hope I can find at the market it was so good. On top of all this goodness, the prices are great! We can hardly wait to try the roasted chicken and a steak!! I think this place might battle for our top spot alongside Richards Bistro!
