It was my first time eating at kokonut and I was quite excited, when I arrived I immediately saw how over priced the meals were but I decided I would go through with it because maybe they just stack you up with meat. But that is probably the farthest thing from the truth. I got the 2 meat plate that is a shocking 15.49. My girlfriend got the 1 meat plate for 11.49. I paid an extra 4 dollars and got the same exact amount of meat. They also charge extra for all the meat they have except Teriyaki chicken and the pork. The skimp and it shows. I do not see the kokonut island grill being in business much longer if they don't make a change soon. This is legalized robbery for the food you get for the price. Seriously ridiculous.
We've been wanting to try for a while. Completely disappointing. I picked the luau plate which comes with white rice, Mac salad, Kailua pork and teriyaki chicken. The plate was 12 dollars and they gave two tiny portions of meat. They seriously need to weigh their meat. I can go to Mobettah's for more flavor, and more food if I buy the $8 mini plate. Until they start weighing plates, go to Mobettah's. To note: the photo attached was before we ate anything!
Not as good as other Hawaiian bbq in our area. Nothing special at all. I won't recommend anyone to waste 13$ on something that is average
No aloha service when I walked in. the rice was cooked good. the mac salad was all right. the Kahlua and the barbecue chicken tasted okay. the teriyaki sauces wasn't that great. and the quantity kind of sucked. I get more food for my dollars amount from Panda Express.
Their cups are dishwasher safe and they put a whole orchid blossom on my food which was already beautifully presented. Their chili teriyaki sauce is delicious and unique and their sandwiches are a different offering than other Hawaiian places. Fry seasoning was also delish and they were incredibly friendly.
