I appreciate the Cuban influence- nice little update from a typical Utah bakery. The Spinach Artichoke Stuffed Baguette wasn't the greatest but I've heard good things about the Ropa Vieja (Cuban Meat Pie . I'll be back to try it and update my review accordingly :
When I went I got some Macarons and they where very good. In the same night I then shamelessly walked back and got a Pumpkin Cheese cake. It was full of flavor and very good. The texture was more fluffy then the dense New York style I was expecting.A friend of mine got the Strawberry Tres Leches role which I proceeded to “try” but ended up eating basically the whole thing. High quality sponge and very good flavor.Worth going to if you are looking for a decadent pastry.
The gelato was very good. Pastries were good, but not quite excellent (below the quality at Gourmandise). The restaurant smelled weird maybe a chemical smell like cleaner? I might come back and give it another shot since they have a good variety of pastries, but nothing stood out to me as worth the trip except the gelato.
They have a lot of dessert choices: gelato, pastries, cakes, macaroons. They even had my fave: kouign aman But it didn't really compare with Salt Lake's La Gourmandise. That place is incredible. Still, there was nothing to complain about.
