Real Urban Barbecue - Proviso Township

I’m heart broken this location has closed down! I wonder if it had to do to the bitter Betty’s and evil Karen’s that are just unhappy and choose to leave bad reviews for this location! I will miss cramming all my coworkers and running over for lunch . Truly devastated! Amazing food now gone….

I came here for lunch and ordered the 2 meats 2 sides option. There was no line and plenty of seating available. 1st of all… both meats I ordered were COLD. I didn’t care for the pulled pork and the burnt ends were good but so cold . The Mac n cheese tasted like a frozen tv Mac n cheese. The max n cheese itself was hot but lacked flavor and seasoning. Literally could not taste the “cheese” and didn’t even make a difference if I added a salt packet. The only thing I got that was fresh, warm and tasted right were my French fries….you really can’t mess that up, can you? The worst part is that I let someone know, and they did absolutely nothing they do not know what an AC is or something. It was so hot inside I was so uncomfortable and concerned that the employees had to work like this. I would not recommend this “bbq” restaurant at all or do not plan on returning. Didn't care for pulled chicken, it was a little dry and could use more seasoning. The Cole Slaw and fries were very good. My friends enjoyed the pulled pork. I was really impressed with the cleanliness, including the bathroom!

My granddaughter wanted pulled chicken for her birthday. I was disappointed that they no longer served sweet potatoes. The rib tips were dry and tough, I paid for cornbread muffins $1.50 each) and they weren’t in my bag! The food in general) was tasteless and unseasoned. This food was horrible and I spent almost $60! I DO NOT recommend this restaurant anymore. It used to be delicious but it has greatly declined!
