Hemenway's - Providence

We had a wonderful meal last night big thank you our knowledgeable server Bob R who answered all of our questions about the menu and spaced the timing between our courses perfectly. Hamacho crudo, sesame crusted tuna, and Rhode Island clam chowder, along with a great selection from the raw bar were standouts of our meal!

Our waiter (Michael P) was outstanding- so efficient and welcoming. He is incredible at his job. It's rare these days to find someone who serves your dinner (and wine) with perfect timing and a great attitude. We felt well taken care of and so comfortable, thanks to him.

Derek, our waiter, was the best. It's my daughter's second year at Brown and Hemenway's quickly became her favorite spot for all of our visits from Brooklyn. The food never disappoints. The specials and the old favorites are delicious. We always start off with the oysters and calamari and then go from there. Looking forward to coming again during parents weekend in late October.

I don't recommend sitting outside. The road noise is kind of annoying and ruins the ambiance of the restaurant. Otherwise, dining here was fantastic! The food and service were wonderful!

Hemenway's always meets our expectations. The food was delicious, however the mahi mahi special was a little cold. The seafood casserole and pork chop were both perfectly hot and delicious. Normally the noise level is moderate but there were a few parties last evening who were very loud making it difficult to hear the wait staff. Our waitress, Lila, did recognize that the noise level was higher than usual and she gladly repeated the mahi mahi special for me. This experience will not deter me from recommending Hemenway's as one of the best restaurants in Providence. Still my fave!!!
