This restaurant in Edmonton offers one of the best beer selections, which is always evolving. I suggest visiting during one of their cask nights.
Whenever I'm in Edmonton, I make sure to visit Dirtbag Cafe. The food and atmosphere are both fantastic. I highly recommend it!
The Seahorse Trading Company is basically a quirky gift shop located in Cow Bay (AKA the tourist district) of Prince Rupert. It should be duly noted at the outset that they no longer offers food items per se, nor have they since late 2015 when Fukasaku moved in. Instead, you can get a delightful assortment of tea, coffee, smoothies and ice cream. If you want a substantive meal, then walk the few steps to Fukasaku and have some absolutely amazing sushi!A brief comment on the smoothies, since this is what I've gone here for a couple of times: They are good -- not too sweet and not overly thick. My favourite is the "liquid sunshine", which is an appropriate name given that Rupert is one of the rainiest places on Earth. What I probably appreciate most about them, though, is the fact that, unlike some of those chains (I'm thinking specifically of Jugo Juice), the smoothies themselves do not begin separating within 5 minutes. You can actually enjoy them at a leisurely pace here! So, yes, this is a cute and quirky spot to go for a light treat and, hey, while you're waiting for your order, check out the gift shop portion ;)
Stumbled into Seahorse after having walked past everyday for almost a week. They are open each day but it's hard to see this from the outside. There are plenty of interesting things to purchase and a cafe that makes soups , wraps and snack things. We were informed by the owner David that they were soon going to develop the cafe into an evening Sushi Bar . It's right on the water in the terminal building.
