When all the locals recommend a certain place for local sushi, you listen. Opa Sushi has been established for quite some time and it certainly lived up to the hype.
This was my first time trying sushi in the northern region.
The Coastal Cafe is a relatively new addition to the Prince Rupert food scene, having opened up just over a month ago in the old Rainforst Books location. The interior of the cafe is very nice -- simple, yet modern. Seating is still somewhat sparse at just a few tables and chairs, but the atmosphere is very welcoming and relaxing.Because this place is still very much a start-up, the menu is quite limited, usually featuring a couple of home-made pizzas and donair sandwiches. What I appreciate about the food, aside from the fact that it is all made in-house, is it's simplicity. The couple of times I've visited, the pizza selections have been basic: Hawaiian and Pepperoni. Sometimes all you want is a simple pizza, not one with everything but the kitchen sink on it! But, at the same time, the limited menu could be a bit of a drawback, given the large number of dining options in this town. Hopefully they continue to add to the menu and continue to attract more customers. In short, I'd recommend giving this place a try. The food is good and the price is even better $(2.50 per slice or $15 for a whole pizza.) The owner, Ian, is a really nice guy, so I sincerely hope this Cafe/Pizzeria is successful in the long run!
